The UN Peacekeeping mission had needed to take the aid workers outside the fighting border. The fighting rebels had been led by Gen, and as of 9:00pm Laurent Nkunda and Mai Mai fighters had not given up. The the rebels had launched heavy fighting last month displacing thousands of homes from villages.
This news has happend not so long ago, and had involved fighting between rebels and the Mai Mai, making workers and others from villages get evacuated so they dont get caught in the fight. It was a follow up of other stories that had happend between the rebels. They had last month, displaced villages, and had a lot of fighting. It shows the emotions that the rebels had against the others, and that they wanted to fight. It is also newsworthy because it brings out the negative and dangers that the villages had faced.
